the war
Billy was running through the Bosnian forest looking for his allies or his enemy’s because he is all on his own. He is running through the the woods very cautiously until he hears a branch snap which is on the floor because of the bomb that got dropped there 19 months ago. The woods are deserted and extinguished the air is contaminated you can even see the green smoke in the air. He hears another twig snap and leaves getting crunched.
so Billy pulls out his marksman rifle from his back into his palm looking in the sight for any more noises so he can trace who’s there so he takes small steps forward so he can keep his focus he still hasn’t found nothing yet e looks up down left and right still nothing but suddenly a massive bear comes out of a thorn.
It jumps at him he takes one shot and the bear just caught his face and scratched him he takes another so he is down and he takes the final one to finish him and he looks at the Bear like its his prey like its his dinner and he has a flash back to his training when it told you how to make a survival machete out of wood form trees he also had a couple of emergency matches and strikes one and burns some wood and makes an wooden spit and sticks some of the meat in it and leans it over the fire for and hour and eats it like he has never eaten before and as he finishes that piece he goes on another until he’s full then he puts his hands over the fire because he is cold and he has rips in his shirt from when the bear attacked him.
He lays next to a massive rock with meadow covering him he wakes up during the night hearing rustling so he turns over and tries to get more sleep for the day ahead of him and suddenly he hears some moaning like someone is hurt it gets closer to Billy then through the trees limps a Japanese soldier which is too obvious to look at he is limping holding his belly like he has been shot and he can’t see Billy lying there in the meadow he stretches for his knife to kill him.
He walks straight past Billy and then he gets up quietly and he stabs the Jap in the neck stealthily and lays him in the meadow so his trace can’t be found he walks in the direction that the Jap came from to find his allies and he walks for like a mile and sees smoke from a fire in the air he steps back and gets his gun out and walk in but right next to the tree so they can faintly see him and he gets closer to the fire and trips on a wire from a winch to the side of him and he drops on the floor and his life flashes before his eyes and he gets up pulls out his knife and nobody’s there it’s like they laid a trap and a fire for nothing but he thinks back to the man and realises that might be his fire and trap he has some supplies stashed in the bushes he picks them up and adds them to his supplies and trots on trying to hunt for more people or food.
he has been walking through the woods for ages maybe like 2 days he has not found anything only a little raccoon which he skins and eats it shortly after he finds a spear leaning against the tree like some one is there he leaves the spear as he doesn’t need it he carrys on walking for some people to be there but still nothing.

Boost- badge desert
I was strolling through a never ending desert of ornagla it is a very weird desert if you don’t think so then imagine a desert with golden sands and then imagine it turn into a ocean. There are weird smokes in the air with water I would like to think it’s real but it’s not as I think it’s called a mirage. This desert is very quiet I can only hear gusts of winds come every couple of minutes i can see them again there are very large mountains they are very uneven and some rain in the far distance but here I can feel the sun beaming at me. The sand is as golden as the sun.
What might make chigurh from no country for old men an effective character
McCarthy uses ‘chigurh hadn’t taken his eyes from him. The man looked away’ as a way to describe the shop keepers personality.
The way how chigurh talks to the shop keeper is in a very blunt way like when the shop keeper says ‘ you all gettin any rain up your way’ and he responds with ‘and what business is it of yours where I’m from, friendo?
Their is some roll reversal at the start of the peice how the shop keeper talks and asks if there is any rain up where he lives but after that it’s chigurh that does the talking and asked loads of questions like ‘ what time do you go to bed’ and loads more questions like that and the shop keeper gives a blunt answer like ‘nine thirty’
Another intense peice is when chigurh has a coin and flips it and catches it and the shop keeper doesn’t want tho call it ‘call it?’ ‘For what’ ‘just call it’ well I need to what it is were callin here’ and then it goes to ”you’ve been putting it up your whole life.’ At this point it has the reader very interested in the book thinking chigurh is going to kill him no matter what it is. You can also tell the shop keeper is very startled and scared.
